What BPC-157 is

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157, also designated PL 14736) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide — a single chain of 15 amino acids. Its sequence corresponds to a partial fragment of a protein found in gastric juice, and the material sold today is chemically manufactured by solid-phase peptide synthesis rather than extracted from a biological source. It is a proline-rich molecule typically supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, sometimes as the plain peptide and sometimes as a salt form marketed as more stable. BPC-157 is sold on the research-chemical market and is not an FDA-approved drug, so the accuracy of what appears on a vial label carries no regulatory oversight.

Why get your BPC-157 independently tested

  • Substitution and mislabeling risk: BPC-157 is one of the highest-volume peptides on the unregulated market, which makes it a frequent target for wrong-compound or partial-peptide substitution. An RP-HPLC-UV identity check confirms your vial actually contains BPC-157 and not something else.
  • Form ambiguity: BPC-157 circulates both as the plain pentadecapeptide and as salt or "arginate" variants promoted as more stable. Retention-time and UV-spectral matching against a certified reference standard helps clarify which molecule you actually received.
  • Underfilled vials: powder labeled 5 mg or 10 mg is priced by peptide content, yet a vial can be padded with mannitol or other bulking agents. Net-peptide assay reveals whether the milligrams of BPC-157 per vial match the label.
  • Synthesis-related impurities: solid-phase synthesis of a proline-heavy sequence can leave truncated or deletion-sequence byproducts and residual counterions. Chromatographic purity, reported as area %, quantifies how much of what's in the vial is the intended peptide.

What we measure on BPC-157

Each certificate reports three measurements from a single reversed-phase HPLC run with UV/diode-array detection at 214 nm. Identity is established by matching your sample's retention time and UV spectrum to a certified BPC-157 reference standard; chromatographic purity is reported as the area percent of the main peak relative to total integrated peaks; and net-peptide assay quantifies the milligrams of BPC-157 per vial against that same standard.

Every result is issued as a certificate of analysis you — or anyone you forward it to — can verify cryptographically. Reporting identity, purity, and milligram content is the point: a vial can be pure and still underfilled, so we report all three. Our scope — stated plainly

Testing is by RP-HPLC-UV against a certified reference standard — it does not include mass spectrometry, sterility, endotoxin, heavy-metal, or residual-solvent analysis. BPC-157 reference standards are commercially available, so identity testing does not usually require a sourcing delay.

Can you tell whether my BPC-157 is the plain peptide or a salt form?

Our RP-HPLC-UV method matches your sample's retention time and UV spectrum to the certified standard we run alongside it. If you tell us which form you believe you have, we compare against the appropriate reference standard. Note that this method characterizes the peptide itself, not the specific counterion of a salt form, which would require an orthogonal technique such as mass spectrometry that we do not offer.

What does a chromatographic purity result actually tell me?

It reports the area percent of the main BPC-157 peak relative to all integrated peaks in the UV chromatogram at 214 nm — an analytical measure of how much of the detectable material is the intended peptide versus synthesis-related impurities. It is not a safety, sterility, or fitness-for-use determination.

Does passing your test mean my BPC-157 is safe to use?

No. We report only analytical identity, chromatographic purity (area %), and net-peptide content per vial. These figures describe what the sample is and how much peptide it contains. They are not a safety or approval statement, and we do not test for contaminants such as endotoxins, microbes, or heavy metals.
