What GHRP-6 is
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6, also SKF-110679) is a synthetic hexapeptide — a six-residue chain, His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, with a molecular weight near 873 g/mol. It is a growth hormone secretagogue that acts at the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). Structurally it carries two tryptophan residues (one in the D-configuration), a D-phenylalanine, and a C-terminal amide; the two indole side chains give it a strong ultraviolet signature useful for detection but also make it oxidation-prone. It is supplied as a lyophilized (usually acetate) powder and sold on the research-chemical market rather than as an approved drug, so its labeled identity and content carry no regulatory guarantee.

- Tryptophan oxidation: the two indole side chains are among the most oxidation-prone in peptide chemistry, so mishandled or aged material accumulates oxidized related substances that shift retention time and show as additional peaks.
- Synthesis-related impurities: assembling a sequence with D-configured residues can leave epimerized, deletion, and incomplete-coupling by-products. Chromatographic purity as area percent quantifies how much of the UV-absorbing material is the target peak versus everything else.
What we measure on GHRP-6
Every GHRP-6 sample is run by reversed-phase HPLC with UV/diode-array detection at 214 nm against a certified reference standard. Each certificate reports exactly three results: identity (retention-time plus UV-spectral match to the reference), chromatographic purity as area percent of the main peak, and net-peptide assay as milligrams of peptide per vial. The two tryptophan chromophores give GHRP-6 a characteristic UV spectrum that supports the identity match.
Every result is issued as a certificate of analysis you — or anyone you forward it to — can verify cryptographically. Our scope — stated plainly
Testing is RP-HPLC-UV against a certified reference standard, not mass spectrometry — identity is a retention-time and UV-spectral match rather than a direct mass measurement. GHRP-6 reference standards are commercially available, so identity testing does not usually require a sourcing delay. KMD Analytical is an independent laboratory; we do not perform sterility, endotoxin, heavy-metal, or residual-solvent testing.
