What Semax/Selank is
Semax/Selank is a two-active vial carrying Semax and Selank together, most commonly labelled as a 10/10 mg split. Both are synthetic heptapeptides that end in the same Pro-Gly-Pro tail — Semax is derived from a fragment of ACTH, Selank from the tuftsin sequence — and both are small, polar, and early-to-mid eluting, which is exactly why they need to be told apart by chromatography rather than assumed from the label. They separate cleanly under our method and each is quantified against its own reference standard; a single purity figure for the vial would not say which peptide was present, let alone how much. Our certificate leads with the name on your label and prints the two actives beneath it, each with its own results row.
Why get your Semax/Selank independently tested
- Two look-alike peptides: same length, same C-terminal tail, similar price. Identity by retention-time and UV-spectral match against separate Semax and Selank standards confirms both are present and which peak is which.
- Split verification: each active gets its own identity, purity, and content line, so a vial that is all Semax and no Selank — or the reverse — is reported as such rather than passing on a total.
- Synthesis byproducts on short peptides: deletion and incomplete-deprotection species from two heptapeptide syntheses show as additional peaks. Purity as area percent reports how much of each is the intended sequence.
- Label mass versus peptide mass: short, salt-heavy peptides carry a large counter-ion share. Per-active net-peptide content separates peptide from packaging for each compound.
What we measure on Semax/Selank
A Semax/Selank certificate reports, for EACH of the two actives, by reversed-phase HPLC with diode-array detection at 214 nm: identity (retention-time and UV-spectral match against that compound's own certified reference standard), chromatographic purity as area percent, content in milligrams per vial, and retention time — one vial, one certificate, one verification code, two fully reported compounds. Appearance and optional pH are reported at the vial level.
Every result is issued as a certificate of analysis you — or anyone you forward it to — can verify cryptographically. Our scope — stated plainly
Testing is RP-HPLC-UV against certified reference standards for each declared active — not mass spectrometry. The certificate reports the actives declared on your label; it does not de-novo identify unlabelled compounds. KMD Analytical is an independent laboratory; we do not perform sterility, endotoxin, heavy-metal, or residual-solvent testing.
KMD is an independent RP-HPLC-UV lab. We do not run LC-MS / mass-spec, sterility, endotoxin, or heavy-metal testing. If your job needs a capability we don't have, we'll say so.
Semax/Selank testing — FAQ
Can you actually tell Semax from Selank?
Yes. Despite the shared Pro-Gly-Pro tail they differ across the rest of the sequence and separate under our method, and each is identified against its own reference standard. A vial that holds only one of them is reported that way.
My split isn't 10/10 — can you still test it?
Yes. The 10/10 split is only the most common label; the blend preset pre-fills it when you order and you edit it to match your vial. Each active is verified against whatever your label declares.
Do I get one certificate or two?
One. A blend vial produces a single certificate with one verification code, on which each declared active has its own identity, purity, content, and retention-time row.
